Meet The Fresh Manna Leadership Team!

Don Smith

Senior Pastor

Hi I’m Don Smith, Pastor of FMCC. It’s been a journey to becoming a Pastor! I was called to the ministry in 1995 and ordained by the late Apostle Cooper, an accomplished author and founder of 7 churches throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1997, I was installed as the assistant Pastor of FMCC, a position in which I served until January 15 of 2006, at which time I received the call to the office of senior pastor for Fresh Manna Christian Center. During our ministry experience, we have led seven successful missionary crusades to the country of Peru, in which many people were led to the Lord Jesus. With great honor from the Lord Jesus, we have served as senior pastor of Fresh Manna Christian Center for the past 18 years. I’ve had the great pleasure of being married to my high school sweetheart, Scheria Smith for over 34 years. From this union, three beautiful daughters; Kamera, Kendrae, and Kamaya have come, and one grandson, Alex.

Sister Tana Monteiro is from the Bay Area. She is a mother of four sons. Tana loves serving her community and is blessed to be able to do that at her church and professionally at a local East Bay School. She loves spending time with her family and the saints and walking in nature. As the coordinator of the Fellowship Committee, she believes that the unity of the saints is essential to a Christian’s growth in the body of Christ and that times of fellowship help make that happen. Tana also serves as the coordinator of the Homeless Outreach Committee; she believes that homeless people deserve to feel seen, heard, and cared for and “ that one plants, one waters, and God gives the increase.”

Michelle Hersey

Michelle has been a member of the Fresh Manna Christian Center Ministries International family for many years. She has and still serves in various capacities in the ministry and has recently been appointed as the Women's Department Leader. A mom of 5 and grandmother of 9, Michelle is a promising Doula and California Notary Public. Her heart is in community service and her super power is seeing others grow, mature, and excel. It is her endeavor to continue to teach the foundational message of FMCC-MI and help it grow through serving as the Women's Department Leader.

Cornelius Clerkley

Media Director

Cornelius was born in San Francisco, California. He has a B.A. degree in African American Studies from the University of California at Berkeley, where he gave his life to the Lord Jesus in his second year attending. Cornelius found FMCC-MI during his last year of study after previously attending other churches and has never left since. Upon attending FMCC- MI, eventually he began to volunteer in the church’s media department, working on the soundboard, recording services, and as time moved on, doing camera work, and assisting with the church’s website. Now, serving as the media director, he is responsible for overseeing the audio, visual, and social media aspects of the church, including leading and training volunteers to manage sound, presentation, and live-streaming of worship services and podcasting.

Cynthia Herndon

Administrative Assistant

As a Midwest native, Cynthia now lives with her husband, Alexander, in the Bay Area. She received her bachelor's degree in Social Work from Briar Cliff University and now works as a social worker with an Oakland-based, non-profit agency. Cynthia has a passion for serving and helping people and is able to do this professionally but also within her church as an Administrative Assistant. She is able to humbly serve those in leadership and those within the church. Having a servant's heart, Cynthia seeks to serve the Lord through serving His people. In her spare time she enjoys reading, painting, and spending time with her husband and dog, Abby.
